William Thurston "Pete" Webb of Efland, formerly of Weldon, died Saturday, October 8, 2011 at the VA Hospital in Durham.

He was born in Edgecombe County, the son of the late William Walton and Jerusha Kennedy Webb.

"Pete" was retired from the United States Navy.

He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Dot Pittman, Olivia Massengale, Helen Brooks, Edna Massengale, Ellen Webb, Peggy Webb; and his brother, Charlie Webb.

He is survived by two sisters, Carolyn Webb Pittman and her husband, Stanley, of Efland and Faye Webb Gardner of Halifax; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services with military honors will be held Monday, October 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Crestview Memorial Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. Randy Martin officiating.

The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.
